The Mission Impossible...

A video showing how it was being interact with, by trying to get through the web of strings as we, as the consumers invade the space within the ecosystem in the world of biodiversity. First attempt was a failure as it was hard for them to even try to get through. Then, as they made their second attempt they managed to get inside the installation yet, unable to not make any sound. In other words, we could not know how much we have killed our needed habitats that drives the ecosystem for it to produce our valued resources. Yet, we are taking things for granted and not knowing the consequences behind the curtains.

First Phase Installation

For the first phase of my project, I created an installation and exhibited it during the Art & Creative Design exhibition. I created a space that describes how the ecosystems within the biodiversity works when we invade the ecological cycle that somehow illustrates the silent destruction without we even know the possibilities of what affect the web of the ecosystem.

I made the space with the use of strong plywood that can withstand and create a hallway corridor where I then painted it in white as to not concentrate on the structure but being in-connect with what is inside where I used strings that is surrounded around it.

Every strings are attach with bells as to create sound.

Here, as we go through these web of strings it creates sounds and the sound kindly explains that a species or more that lives and breathe within the ecosystem dies due to the excess of human invasion for the purpose of exploitation. This installation gives out an awareness about our high consumption that overtook biodiversity.

This is how I find it impossible for a person to even not make a sound as they go through these web of strings. An installation that my intention is for the purpose to connect with my point of what my project is about.

The Art & Creative Design Exhibition, 2011

These are the images that I took during the opening ceremony of the Art & Creative Design Exhibition that was held back in early April as most of the students were being marked as part of their course in how they present their work of projects to the public view.

Students who exhibiting their work throughout the one week exhibition.

These are the work done by those who were taking part in doing Graphic Design with the use of adobe and other digital graphic applications.

The Motion and 4D Graphics shows a wide range of talents done by the students of University of Brunei Darussalam where they show their projects in a form of advertisements and music video clips.

Art Installations that were made by some students where they welcome the public to interact with their work by understanding their means of work.

The students too show their other side of creativity through numbers of sculptures and paintings using different medium from scrap metals, metal strings to styrofoam. We too were made into the publishing by Borneo Bulletin and Brunei Times explaining students from University of Brunei Darussalam showcasing our work of creative Art & Design.

The Space For Exhibition

These are the pictures that I took from University Brunei Darussalam at the front area of the Chancellor Hall for me to see the space that has been provided for the upcoming Art & Graphics Exhibition back in early April. The space somehow have a potential to have the exhibition although there were a lot of restrictions in setting the space up as we were told not to cover up the space where any doors and the elevator are easily accessible.
